About GiveawayShark
Who Runs the Site
The site is run and edited by Lorenz Scheithauer, based in Bestensee, Brandenburg, Germany. Full provider details with address are in the Legal Notice, and a direct line is on the Contact page.
Why GiveawayShark Exists
Giveaways are scattered everywhere: on brand websites, in newsletters, in social media posts, on promotion pages that vanish again after four weeks. If you want to enter regularly, you spend more time searching than entering. GiveawayShark brings these promotions together in one place — with category, prize details, an effort estimate, and, where it can be read reliably, the entry deadline — and links straight to the sponsor's original promotion.
The second goal is avoiding frustration. A promotion that requires a purchase first should say so up front. A deadline that can't be read with confidence should be labeled unknown rather than guessed at. And an entry link should land where the giveaway actually happens, not on the next aggregator page.
How Listings Are Created
Automatically. A custom-built program collects promotions, filters out portal and affiliate-commission links, checks the entry deadline, looks up prize values against a fixed list of trusted retailer sources, and drafts the copy with an AI model that runs locally. Listings are not individually reviewed by hand, and the runs don't follow a fixed schedule. Exactly which filters apply — and where they stop — is covered in detail on the How We Check page.
How the Site Is Funded
Through advertising — specifically Google AdSense. The publisher ID is published in the domain's ads.txt file; a consent banner asks before any personalized advertising loads. What data that involves is covered in the Privacy Policy; you can change your choice anytime via Cookie Settings.
What's not part of the funding: the redirect button to a giveaway carries no commission tag — it just counts a click and then forwards you to the destination unchanged. Links with an affiliate tag are actively rejected during import. No money is accepted for listing a giveaway or for better placement; there's no technical way to do that either, since listings are created exclusively through the automated import.
Using the site is free and doesn't require an account.
What the Site Wants to Know About You: Nothing
There's no user account on giveawayshark.com, no registration, no newsletter sign-up, and no contact form. The only input field is the search box. If you want to get in touch, you use your own email program — so the choice of what data gets sent stays with you.
What I Measure the Site By
- No detour: Every listing links to the real giveaway, not to another portal.
- Better blank than made up: An unclear deadline is shown as unknown, not estimated.
- Better one listing fewer: A promotion without a specifically named prize, or one whose "prize" is just a sign-up voucher, doesn't make the list.
- A purchase requirement is stated, not hidden behind wording like "submit the entry form."
- Limits are stated: What the automation can't do is written on the methodology page, not left out.
Mistakes Happen
A one-person project with automated data collection makes mistakes: a link that leads nowhere, a promotion that ended earlier than stated, a category that doesn't fit. If you spot something like that, please report it — every report is more likely to lead to a better rule for all future listings than to a one-off fix. You'll find how to reach me on the Contact page.
